3 Things You Can at Home While The Covid 19 Pandemic Rages On.

The Covid 19 Coronavirus outbreak/pandemic has thrust the world in ways we’ve never seen before in our lifetime. Social distancing is recommended to stop the spread of invisible disease and it has affected us in many ways that we have never dreamed of, imagined, or experienced.

In many states across the US, more job cuts have affected thousands as a result of this virus. The ones that are qualified for unemployment are grateful that they have this benefit to fall back on. But how about the many thousands who don’t have or qualify for unemployment benefits?

If your job did not fall under the essentials, then there is a good chance you are out of a job. And while the time off is great for many, the harsh reality is food needs to be on the table, car notes need to be paid, mortgages and many other bills. 

A moratorium has been placed on some mortgages and that is great. We are thankful that our system has this mechanism to help us when it’s needed. Our hearts are prayers go out to those who have lost loved ones to this horrible disease and we will get through this together.

We are happy for the actions of the government to pass a bipartisan bill to support the people and companies affected by this disaster. A 2 Trillion dollar stimulus package/deal was approved on March 25, 2020, and we cannot be more than happier. The next thing that is left is to get it signed into law by the President. It is the right thing to do in this crisis for the people of this great nation.

The title of this article is “3 Things That You Can You Do at Home While the Covid-19 Pandemic Rages On” in our communities, nation and around the globe? Everyone is feeling the effects of this pandemic and I am at a loss for words except to say this. “Its time to pray”! and listen to what the experts are saying.

With that said, there are a number of things we can do and in this article, I am going to list THREE things. I hope you find these helpful especially the people who are currently jobless.

1. Get back to basics as a family

Before this, our lives were super busy. The kids had to get dropped off to school. We have meetings to attend. We had basketball, soccer, football games and we kept going and going with almost little time for each other.

The children are home and with homeschooling in full effect, our every moment is spent with them as they navigate this challenging time. My daughter complained that she wants to go to school. I must admit. This shocked me because my daughter has always complained that she does not like school.

At this moment, she has seen the benefit of class interaction and how hard it can be for doing schoolwork at home. She has to focus and hand in her class assignments daily. I must admit, I chuckled at her complaints and let her see that school is an essential part of education. I hope by the time classes resume she will find school more valuable.

(b) We are certain that more family time is essential for bonding. My third daughter is 10 and I see how she is getting along better with her mother. It has not gotten much better with me but it’s growing up daily. 

I thought girls stick close to their dad but in my case, it is the opposite. At least with my third daughter that is what I have experienced. The first one is like glue to me. What is it like with your daughters in your family?

(c) We can use this time to clean up the house or do house chores that have been put off for a while now. With a busy lifestyle, rooms can get cluttered and homes can fall behind because of the hectic schedule. If you are not this category, then costs to you and your family unit. 

The majority of us can use a good house cleaning. It doesn’t have to be a huge amount of work. It can be simple stuff like dusting, wiping and helping washing dishes and putting out the trash. The kids might love helping so why not use them.

2. You Can Try Doing Freelance Work While You Are home

If you are currently out of a job or just looking for something to pass the time, try your hands at freelance as a way to make extra money from home. Did you know that there is a tone of freelance networks available? For more than a decade, freelance websites have secured themselves as the go-to destinations for freelancing.

People from all over the world use them to get jobs done by experts. These freelancers are paid at the completion of the work and you can make a great deal of money as a freelancer. What are you good at?

To find out if your service is needed do a simple google search for what you do. Type freelance at the end of what you do. Do it like this: Transcriber “freelance”. This should return some results and the companies that offer jobs in this category. Do this with another tap open at the top of your web browser.

When you do this you will see a lot of results pertaining to freelance work. These are good companies to work with as they provide safe and plenty of job opportunities for freelancers. It doesn’t matter where you live in the world, Most of them support countries connected to the worldwide web.

Some More Ways to Earn While You Are Home From Work

Another great way to use the internet while you are home is to start a blog. It’s great to use for buying products and services and as the social distancing is in place we can do much more than buying and giving our money to Amazon. Why not earn some of that back? 

I know a blog or website might not be the best activity to get involved with due to the circumstances but starting a blog or website would be a great way to document your journey or make some money online, through these times and the life we’ve never seen before.

You could look back and reminisce about the actions, steps you took, your family, friends lost, friends gained, opportunities opened up, door closed, business shuttered forever and business that has found life in this situation.

My job as a Maintenance Technician is classified as an essential job in the State of New Jersey. I still get up every day and go to work. We do practice social distancing and we were our mask and gloves always. 

With all the uncertainty, one of my outlets is my activity on my blogs and Wealthy Affiliate. This is a place where thousands of people from around the world share their ideas of building a business online and more. 

It’s not free but people who are interested in entrepreneurship and building an online business can get 7-day free access. It is a great way to see, ask questions and for one to get exposed to what people are really doing online during this time or worldwide crisis that is unfolding!

3. I mentioned earlier that you can start a blog. You can and there are many platforms to get a blog up and running pretty quickly.

The easiest platform to use for blogs is WordPress. This is the easiest and most sophisticated web application that I’ve come across both as a beginner and professional. Should you pay outright to start your blog?

You can and there are benefits to pay for a domain which is how people are going to find your blog. In other words, when someone asks you what your blog name, you would tell them that it is PinkPillowsham.com or how to make money from home.siterubix.com or xyz.blogger.com or something like easywaystomakemoneyonlineathome.worpress.com and so on.

There are upsides and downsides to these. The upside for starting a blog freely is just that. You don’t have to pay any money to get started. Your content will be safe but not 100% protected because it is on a free platform that you don’t own.

Buying hosting from sites like Hostgator or Namecheap is awesome website hosting and domain companies to get started. However, they come with limited tutorials on how to set up your website or blog. You will just be on your own and rely on youtube to get you up to speed.

This path can get frustrating but you don’t mind this can be a great learning experience on setting up a new blog. But you don’t have to go that route at all.

One thing that I forgot to mention is how people will see your blog. With the free blogs, they will all end with the parent hosting at the end of your domain. This means that if you are hosting your blog on Siterubix.com your domain will be https://homesick.siterubix.com to make a reference. If you don’t want that, then you can purchase a domain at Namecheap, get their inexpensive hosting package and host the site there. This would mean your domain will end with whatever name you select.
